What is Gelato?

If you are new to the world of gelato it is simply Italian ice cream. Made with less fat and churned more slowly to create a denser, more flavorful product than its North American brother. The flavors taste as fresh and pure as the ingredients we use. For those with food sensitivities and allergies, our sorbetti are non dairy and vegan and almost all of our flavors our gluten free. Ono Gelato Kihei was the third Ono location established in Maui opening its doors at Azeka Shopping Center in June 2010. Each day we strive to serve Maui's finest Italian ice cream. The store is owned and operated by Valerie Kane, one of the original founders of Ono Gelato in Paia and Lahaina.

We are an authentic Italian gelateria with 11 sorbettos (non dairy) and 16 gelati (dairy based). We craft our gelato in the true artisan style infused with our hand-crafted flavors.

We make 10 - 20 batches in house daily. This allows us to guarantee freshness and keep our selection of flavors rotating, so you are sure to find one you love.
